Terms and Conditions



Before you start exploring our website or using any of our services, it’s important for you to read this terms & conditions policy carefully. By using our website and services, you are indicating that you have read and agreed to the terms outlined in this policy. If you don’t agree with this policy, you won’t be able to use our website or services. This policy applies to all users unless specifically mentioned otherwise. When you access or use our service, you are agreeing to follow these terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you should not access the service.

Turn-around Time

  • All orders are subject to 5-7 working days (Monday-Friday) turn-around time to receive their first draft of documents.
  • Express orders receive the first draft of documents within 24-48 hours.
  • Our turn-around times may at times be faster than expected. Prompt replies to our requests will ensure a faster turn-around time of your order.
  • Turn-around time is calculated once proof of payment of an order is received.
  • All Clients will receive a request for information on their particular order, once we receive proof of payment.
  • We do not take responsibility for extended turn-around times due to: network issues/server issues/loadshedding (South-Africa)/time zone differences/late communication from clients.


  • Kindly be aware that our pricing is subject to change without prior notice. The accurate amount charged will align with the price indicated on our website.


  • Due to the nature of our final product, our services are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are ONLY available before sending us your template choice, via email/WhatsApp text message.
  • Refunds should be requested to admin@chickmyresume.co.za Subject: Refund.
  • Refunds will not be reversed to any other banking details, except to the account holder of the original proof of payment.
  • Refunds may take 24-48 hours, and will NOT be cleared immediately.

Resumes/Cover Letters/One-Pager Resumes/LinkedIn Bios

  • All our documents are written by our copywriters using their own writing skills as well as artificial intelligence tools to enhance your document. Copywriters will use their discretion when completing an order, this may include: paraphrasing/summarizing/rewording/adding or removing bullet points/adding or removing headings/re-arranging the structure of existing information, to suit your specific industry needs.
  • Our documents are written in either UK/USA English. Clients to specify your grammatical changes on certain phrases or words in your editing period. We do not translate our documents into other languages.
  • Templates chosen with profile photo options may have the profile photo frame removed. Request this removal when informing us of your template choice.
  • Any current Resume/CVs/Cover Letters requested from us will only be accepted in pdf/word.doc format. Scanned Resume/CVs will not be accepted, unless otherwise stated in your initial review/quote.
  • Any information to be added/removed/changed on your new Resume/Cover Letter/LinkedIn Bio must be sent via email/word.doc.
  • We will rewrite and grammatically correct any information requested by us from our client to ensure professional documents. Existing duties from positions will be rewritten, unless otherwise stated by our client.
  • We may change the layout of the template chosen by a client to ensure a professional document.
  • LinkedIn Bio’s are 350-370 words. Info requested for a LinkedIn Bio will be extracted from information requested from a client. LinkedIn Bio’s will not be written from an existing/new resume.
  • Hyperlinks can be created in your documents for LinkedIn account names/websites/social media accounts. Provide the correct link.
  • Cover letters are addressed (Dear, Human Resources Manager), unless otherwise requested by a client.
  • A watermark footnote appears on all documents except our LinkedIn Bio’s. Removal of our watermark is R50 per Resume/Cover Letter. Request the removal in your 3-day editing period.
  • Profile photos to be sent uncropped/edited in jpeg/png format. Specify if your profile photo should be created in color/grey/sepia/flipped/background blurred/background removed.
  • We do not include the following in our documents: Graphs, Tables, Multiple Photos (Profile Photo only), Images/Illustrations, Company Logos.
  • Our final documents will be received in pdf format, except for our One-Pager Resumes. We do not convert any of our documents to word.docs or any other format.
  • Our One-Pager Resumes are completed in jpeg format.
  • Cover letters are written as a general cover letter to apply to various vacancies unless otherwise requested by a client.


  • Edits within our 3-day editing period, will have a maximum of 3 revisions.
  • Edits after our 3-day editing period incur an editing fee of R70 for Resumes & Cover Letters, and R50 for LinkedIn Bios. Editing fees are charged per request and not annually.
  • Edits allowed are:
    • Contact Information
    • Skills
    • Hobbies & Interests
    • References
    • Profile Photos
    • LinkedIn Bios
  • Edits of the following will be quoted:
    • Cover Letter Body
    • Career Summaries/Profiles/Objectives
    • Positions & Duties
    • Requesting us to add any criteria of a vacancy will only be accepted via email/word.doc, clearly specifying your edits.
    • Any edits after the 12-month period of your initial documents received.
  • All edits to be provided in an email or a word.doc, clearly specifying which heading/section to edit.
  • Minor edits to be provided on WhatsApp text messages allowed. We may request edits to be emailed should we find the amount of edits excessive.
  • We will adjust our template headings by the request of our Client. Our templates will not be changed. Reasonable requests will be considered by the copywriter.
  • We do not accept edits via screenshots (unless indicating an error/minor change)/scanned pages with handwritten side notes/WhatsApp voice notes.
  • All edits need to be sent in one email or one word document. Edits not sent in the one email or word document will incur additional fees of R70 per new submission.
  • Although we strive to ensure satisfied Clients, unreasonable editing requests will be denied.

First Draft

  • Once you receive your first draft, review your document and inform us of any edits required within 3 days (Monday-Sunday), counted from the day you received the first draft.
  • Edits received after the 3-day period will incur an editing fee. Please refer to our “Edits” section for more information.
  • Upon receiving your information as requested by us, we will send you the first draft document within the turnaround time frame you have chosen (5-7 working days/24-48 hours).

 Final Documents

  • Once your order is completed, you may receive a request from us to review our services/advertising.
  • Should we not receive any editing request from a Client, the first draft will become the final document, and we consider your order completed.
  • Once your order is completed, we will remove your order from our system as well as your personal information.

Intellectual Property

  • The content, features, and functionality of the Service belong solely to Chick my Resume and its licensors.
  • All our templates are changed on a regular basis to ensure a wide variety of templates to our clients.
  • All our templates are not available for public viewing to prevent pirating.


  • Termination of services without prior notice will take effect if our staff receives verbal abuse or threats.
  • Orders will be terminated after 14 working days (counted from proof of payment) if we have not received all requested information from a client.
  • We reserve the right to terminate our services to a client at our own discretion if we find that the provided information is lawfully untruthful.
  • All terminations will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Clients must provide termination notices via email, and refunds will not be provided. Please refer to the section on refunds for more information.

Changes of T&Cs

  • Our Terms & Conditions are subject to change, and as the service provider, we reserve the right to modify them at any time. In the event that there are significant changes, we will notify our users through our social media accounts, providing a 30-day notice period. By continuing to use our services beyond this notice, you indicate your agreement to the updated terms and conditions.

Governing Law

  • These Terms represent our entire agreement regarding the Services provided and replace any previous agreements we may have had.
  • If a court finds any provision of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will still apply.
  • If we fail to enforce any right or provision in these Terms, it doesn’t mean that we are waiving those rights.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, regardless of any conflicts with other laws.


  • All communication will be in English.
  • We communicate via email/WhatsApp text messages.
  • We may request info from a client after hours and on weekends. Clients are requested to reply as soon as convenient, to ensure a faster turn-around time.
  • Express order communication will cease at 22:00 daily, and commence the following day.
  • When sending us a WhatsApp text message, we will endeavor to respond as soon as possible.


  • Recipients of a Product giveaway will be requested to provide delivery and contact details.
  • We may request a review from you as a recipient of a giveaway.
  • Resume/Cover Letter/One-Pager/LinkedIn Bio giveaways are bound by our terms & conditions.

WhatsApp Vacancy Groups

  • We are not a recruitment company, and any communication regarding a vacancy posted should be done using the contact details provided on the vacancy.
  • We post nation vacancies in South Africa/applicable to South Africans.
  • We do not post work-from-home opportunities/any vacancy we feel is not from a reliable source/discriminatory.
  • We do not post vacancies from any political parties.
  • We are not liable for any incorrect information posted as we post vacancies sent to us from the public/or see online.
  • Business Owner/Recruiters may send their vacancies for us to post to all our groups via email/WhatsApp. Please provide all of the following in your vacancy: Area, position, description, contact details.

  • Our services are at your own risk, and are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  • Our services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.
  • The owner/s, management, affiliates, copywriters, staff, and suppliers do not take any responsibility for any loss that occurred due to the use of this site, and the use of the site is at your sole discretion.
  • We are not responsible for any lost or unrecoverable information after submission, and we may request information again from a client.
  • We are not liable for any issues or interruptions in order processing due to server problems or availability as well as load shedding delays.
  • We are not liable for any incorrect information provided by a client when completing our services. It is the responsibility of the recipient of any documentation to verify the accuracy and truthfulness of the information provided.
